DESCRIPTION: The flattened nymphs of the jumping plant louse that cause the leaf curl on the host plant are fairly rare creatures and mostly seen in the south. Each leaf becomes swollen at the edges and curls inwards and has a reddish and green appearance. The flowers can also become affected and end up a tangled, leafy mass. DISTRIBUTION: Uncommon. Best from June until October. HABITAT: On leaves of Red Valerian.
